ALL ABOUT LUX

 

The LUX dance weekend first launched in 2009 as a partnership between Utopia, Ceroc Newbury and Ceroc Thames Valley, and for the last 15 years has gained an enviable reputation as one of the best weekend dance events in the UK. It's also the most flexible with numerous booking options that allow you to tailor your event experience to your exact requirements.

In 2019 we redesigned it to concentrate more on what people have loved about the event - which has always been the Sunday classes and the now legendary early afternoon to 6am freestyle. But we've not compromised on the amount of dance space, selection of freestyle genres, teachers or selection of classes AND we've added in a great 2 room Bank Holiday freestyle on the Monday.

In 2023 we added a Saturday night main room freestyle for a maximum of 200 people. This will gave those residents an opportunity to settle in, have a dance and meet some new people, before the workshops kick off the next day.  Because we want you to be fresh for the Sunday workshops, the freestyle will finish at 1am on Saturday night.

The full schedule for 2024 will be available closer to the event date, but in the meantime you can get an idea of the teaching and DJing line up and timings on the previous LUX 23 schedule HERE

For those people not checking in on Saturday, doors open at 11.30am on Sunday with classes running from midday - 7pm across 2 rooms. Freestyle on Sunday starts at 2pm, continuing until 6am across 3 rooms and the outside dance space. BUT it doesn't finish there...

On Monday, freestyles continue from 1pm - 7pm across 2 rooms, to include S'Funk, Ceroc Freestyle and Utopia/SILC.

​

For those of you who decide to combine an overnight stay, there is a possibility to 'bolt-on' a 4pm late check-out via the booking page.

We offer dancers ultimate weekender choice! Unlike other dance weekenders, there isn't only one option. You can book just one night of freestyle with no accommodation, workshops and freestyle on Sunday night, Monday only, or just book the whole caboodle and have 2 nights in the hotel.

 

Accommodation is available on a single occupancy basis, twin, double or triple and if you really want to push the boat out you can book a Suite or choose a deluxe room which is a bit roomier!

Dining at LUX.
There are two restaurants; Rowans for more formal dining and for a more casual dining experience you can order from the bar menu and eat in the comfortable lounge. The hotel are currently putting together a catering plan to ensure quality and speed of service is optimum and this may include a fabulous buffet option in Rowans on Sunday evening. For those of you who have been attending LUX for some years, you'll know that the buffets always used to provide good food and good choice.... I still remember the mini baked alaskas!

 

Once booked for the weekend, you will be invited to book a table in Rowans restaurant by emailing sales@coppidbeech.com

Overnight hotel stays include the Coppid Beech's extensive buffet breakfast in Rowans which includes both hot and cold choices as well as healthy options too! 

 

AND breakfast is served at 6am on the Sunday night/Monday morning straight after freestyle finishes!

So what could your perfect LUX weekend itinerary look like if you stayed over?

• Check-in to the hotel 

• Have a boogie on Saturday night and meet some new friends

• Attend any of the classes on offer on Sunday

• Dance freestyle on the deck to Motown and Soul Funk classics as well as UTOPIA/SILC

• Take a snooze

• Get dressed up and go to the all new beautiful lounge for Cocktails 

• Follow up with a superb buffet dinner in Rowans

• Dance in any one of the 3 dance spaces - Ceroc, Utopia/SILC or Blues

• Return to your room to recharge your batteries

• Dance until 6am and go straight into the restaurant for a superb buffet breakfast

• zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

• Get up and do some more dancing until 7pm

• Visit the Health Suite for a jacuzzi & swim
